Who can contact the Working Group?
The Working Group for Equal Opportunities is responsible for all university members (employees and students as well as applicants for admission as employees or students) at the MedUni Vienna.
The tasks of the Working Group for Equal Opportunities
Consultation in the event of
- discrimination (based on gender, ethnicity, religion or belief, age or sexual orientation)
- harassment (based on gender, ethnicity, religion or belief, age or sexual orientation)
- sexual harassment
- bullying
Support during the personnel recruitment process
- When new staff members are recruited, the Working Group checks that all legal requirements regarding equal treatment are met. The members and substitute members in charge of advertising and filling vacant posts are listed here.
General tasks
- Advisory function with the University’s collegial bodies and participation in and supervision of appointment and habilitation committees
- Advising all university members on issues of equality, advancement of women and non-discrimination
- Networking with the various relevant staff units, service departments and committees of the MedUni Vienna and other Austrian universities
- Preparing an annual progress report for the Rectorate and the University Council.
The rights of the Working Group for Equal Opportunities:
- The members of the Working Group for Equal Opportunities are independent and not bound by any external instructions.
- Right to appeal to the Arbitration Committee in the event of the incorrect composition of collegial bodies or the suspicion of discrimination.
- Right to inspect all documents required for the fulfilment of the tasks of the Working Group for Equal Opportunities. However, any inspection of personnel files requires the consent of the persons concerned.
- Right to propose changes to the Career Advancement Plan for Women and Equal Opportunities Plan
- Obtaining expert opinions from the Equal Treatment Commission
- The members of the Working Group must not be impeded in their work as such and their activity must not result in any disadvantages for their professional advancement.
