The Works Council is the representation of interest of the staff and enjoys the right to a say in staff and financial decisions.
The Works Council for the general university staff comprises 16 members and deals with the following areas:
It negotiates company agreements, ensures compliance with collective agreements and company agreements, makes proposals to improve working conditions and safety, has the right to a say in the designing of workplaces, has the right to a say in staff and financial issues, has the right to make statements on terminations of employment and dismissals and contest them before the court, can - on certain conditions - prevent transfers, and must be informed about all issues affecting employees.
