Intended use
Pollenservice Vienna provides data on pollination and processes data for an easily comprehensible communication as short-, mid- and long-term pollen forecasts, pollen calendars as well as graphs for the general population. All persons interested in pollination in Vienna are the target group.
The data is evaluated scientifically to the current European standards (ÖNORM EN16868:2019) on the measurement of pollen concentrations with Hirst-type pollen traps. The preparation of a pollen forecast is based on those measurements, the assessment of the flower development of allergenic plants in Vienna and its surroundings (phenology), the current weather forecast as well as the expertise of the team of Pollenservice Vienna. The pollen forecasts may not depict the reality always or at any point in time and must be understood as probability for e.g. “high pollination”. This is not a symptom forecast!
