
(Vienna, 10 November 2016) The Medical University of Vienna climbed into the Top 200 in the global National Taiwan University Ranking (NTU Ranking) of the best universities. Even in the "Clinical Medicine" category, MedUni Vienna made up a few places in the rating system that measures research achievements by the yardstick of scientific publications, and now ranks 65th amongst the best medical schools in the world.
In the "Overall" category, MedUni Vienna took place 195 (2015: 204), thereby jumping into the Top 200, and it continues to be the best ranked Austrian university ahead of the University of Vienna (265), the University of Innsbruck (358), the Medical University of Innsbruck (378), Vienna University of Technology (437) and the Medical University of Graz (474).
In the "Clinical Medicine" category, MedUni Vienna moved up two places to 65th place and continues to be ranked amongst the best medical schools in the world.
The ranking system, which is also known as the "Performance Ranking of Scientific Papers for World Universities", has been measuring the research performance of universities since 2007, using the criterion of scientific publications.
