(Vienna, 02-04 2024) Sylvia Gohl will take over as Head of the Finance Department at the Medical University of Vienna on April 1, 2024. Gohl was most recently Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of the ALDI Süd Group.
From the beginning of April, Sylvia Gohl will be responsible for the financial affairs of the Medical University of Vienna, which, with around 6,000 employees, is one of the most important top research institutions in Europe in the biomedical field and, with around 8,000 students, is the largest medical training institution in the German-speaking world.
Under her leadership, Sylvia Gohl aims to align the finance department with the ongoing changes in modern finance and develop it in a future-oriented manner.
Her focus is on integrating digital technologies in order to generate efficiency benefits and at the same time increase the department's transparency and flexibility. In this process, she particularly emphasizes the importance of service- and employee-oriented work.
"Through targeted digitalization, we not only want to optimize processes, but also ensure that we offer a service of the highest quality while creating a supportive environment for our employees," explains Sylvia Gohl, "we want to be able to respond dynamically to the changing requirements of finance. I am very much looking forward to the exciting tasks ahead."
The 47-year-old studied business administration at the Karl-Franzens University in Graz, where she also completed her doctorate. In 2000, she started as Regional Sales Manager at Hofer KG and then progressed through several career stages to the CFO position at the ALDI Südd Group, which she has held since 2014.
